Hi! I’m Fadya Krishna Adinda, but you can call me Aya.
I’m a 21-year-old Diploma III graduate from Politeknik Negeri Bandung, majoring in English. I’m someone who easily connects with people, enjoys socializing, and brings cheerful vibes wherever I go.I have a big passion for exploring new places and discovering new experiences. I also love writing and singing. They’ve always been my favorite ways to express myself and stay inspired.
In 2024, I had the amazing opportunity to study abroad in Enschede, the Netherlands, through the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), a scholarship program from the Ministry of Education that supports Indonesian students to gain academic and cultural experience overseas. I spent one semester at Saxion University of Applied Sciences, from August 23, 2024, to January 31, 2025. During my exchange, I took courses in International Finance and Accounting. Yes, a big leap from my English background, but a challenge I truly embraced!
Enschede is a small city in the eastern part of the Netherlands, close to the German border. It may not be as popular as cities like Amsterdam or The Hague, but it is home to two major universities, Saxion University of Applied Sciences and the University of Twente. The city offers a calm and friendly atmosphere, reliable public transport, and plenty of green spaces, making it a comfortable place for students to live and study. Enschede became one of the coziest and most peaceful places I have ever lived in. I genuinely felt at home there, and honestly, I didn’t want to leave.
I started this blog to support fellow international students who are planning to live or have just arrived in Enschede. I hope the stories, tips, and insights I share here can help make their transition smoother. This blog also serves as my personal journal to document the exciting journey I had in the Netherlands.
Thanks for visiting. I hope you find something here that’s helpful or inspiring!
